CHINA TO INCREASE RUSSIAN GAS IMPORTS THROUGH POWER OF SIBERIA BY 5 BILLION CUBIC METERS IN 2025

China will increase imports of Russian natural gas delivered through the Power of Siberia pipeline next year, exceeding existing contractual volumes, according to a statement by the state-run People's Daily newspaper, published on the website of the National Energy Administration of China on Friday.
Gazprom announced this month that gas supplies from the Russian Federation to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline have reached the planned level (38 billion cubic meters per year).
“The volume of natural gas flowing to the Yangtze River Delta region through the Russia-China eastern route is expected to increase by nearly 5 billion cubic meters in 2025,” the People’s Daily said. — “Since the northern section was put into service in December 2019, the total volume of gas transportation along the Russia-China eastern line has exceeded 80 billion cubic meters. Natural gas supplied to areas of China along the pipeline is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 164 million tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 1.82 million tons.”
