UN-COP29

COUNTRIES THAT BUY LNG FROM THE US WILL HAVE TO ASK RUSSIA FOR GAS

ree

Countries that buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States will ask Russia for it when Washington cuts supplies, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29).

“Nobody in the world knows what to do with electricity supplies because in three or four years the United States will stop exporting LNG. After all, they themselves will need it because of increased consumption, artificial intelligence and electric batteries. Then we will all line up, and those who banned Russian gas will line up in front of Moscow and demand: give us back our gas supplies,” Vucic reports.

Gas is supplied to Serbia by Gazprom through the Turkish Stream pipeline.

According to RIA Novosti, an agreement has been reached on exports according to the formula 6+2+2 million cubic meters per day for the next heating season.

The gas supply agreement between Serbia and Russia is expected to be extended in 2025.
