U.S. MAY EXTEND ANTI-RUSSIAN SANCTIONS TO OIL TANKER

The Biden administration plans to impose more sanctions on Russia, targeting tankers carrying oil priced above $60 a barrel, Reuters reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
"The Biden administration is planning sanctions on tankers carrying Russian oil priced above the Western limit of $60 a barrel," the agency said, citing sources.
Reuters claims Russia is using old fuel-carrying ships to "get around the limit." One of the anonymous sources stressed to the agency that the United States will introduce a “broad package of sanctions” against Russia.
“The sanctions will probably also include measures against individuals involved in certain networks that trade oil at prices above the limit ($60 per barrel - ed.),” another anonymous source told the agency.
Earlier, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen confirmed that the United States will continue to seek to tighten sanctions against Russian oil exports and may impose sanctions on ships that allegedly carry out transport, as well as reduce the previously introduced price cap on Russian fuel.
