US IMPOSES 3,521% TARIFFS ON SOLAR PANEL IMPORTS FROM SOUTHEAST ASIA

The United States has imposed tariffs of up to 3,521% on solar panel imports from Southeast Asian countries, the Wall Street Journal reports.
"The United States has deepened its trade dispute with China after imposing high tariffs on solar panel imports from four Southeast Asian countries... some Cambodian manufacturers will face tariffs of more than 3,500%," the publication said.
It is reported that high tariffs have also hit companies from Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
"Tariffs of up to 3,521% on solar panel imports from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia would effectively make these products uncompetitive for U.S. consumers," the article reads.
The decision was made by U.S. authorities after the country's Department of Commerce concluded that China had been shipping solar panels through Southeast Asian countries to sell them in the United States, in order to avoid customs duties.
